Daniela was raised mostly on the Tropic of Capricorn, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. At Tufts she wrote short fiction, was a community organizer, and authored a senior project on nation-building in societies marked by the absence of a human rights culture. Her first job was as a staff writer for the Los Angeles Times, where she realized that old-school media is, indeed, old. She now lives in San Francisco, where she works on immigrant education and outreach.
